PR & OUTREACH SPECIALIST


 

Ongoing contract, 1-2 days per week intitially

ROLE

We’re looking for a PR and Outreach Specialist to work closely with our storytelling team to deliver outstanding coverage for our clients’ content. As an experienced Digital PR Specialist, you’ll know it takes a certain kind of character and persistance to capture the attention of today’s busy journalists and bloggers. You will understand intimately how PR has changed in the last few years and be ahead of the curve. We don’t want you to use templated approaches, we want you to bring your own style and flair to our clients’ campaigns. You’ll contribute to creative sessions, use your research knowledge to uncover data-driven opportunities and always be on the lookout for new ways to promote our clients’ content with new influencers.

This PR and Outreach Specialist role is key to ensuring the success of our client’s content marketing and PR plans, responsible for delivering high-quality placements and building ongoing relationships with influencers and publications across the digital and print spaces.

  •   Securing high-quality content placements on top publisher platforms and blogs for client campaigns including:
    – National, regional, trade, niche press/journalists
    – Niche social communities / community managers
    – Bloggers
    – Influencers
  • Use or be willing to learn a wide range of tools for reporting analysis, tracking, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Produce coverage reports on links and placements acquired utilising tools like Google Analytics including:
    – Brand mentions
    – Backlinks
    – Social metrics and engagement (reach, likes, shares, comments)

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • 1 -2 years experience working in a similar role (ideally in an agency and with some experience in food, drink or travel)
  • Able to demonstrate evidence of placing high quality press stories
  • Familiar with PR databases and research
  • Up to date with PR in 2017, the landscape and the latest digital trends
  • Experience liaising with in-house teams, external suppliers, and clients
  • Excellent written and communication skills (inc. telephone manner)
  • Strong research and analysis skills
  • Primarily remote working, so you must be used to this, and able to manage your time independently and effectively. We look for the highest standard of results, not punching the clock.

PAID OUTREACH & CONTENT DELIVERY MANAGER


 

Ongoing contract, 2 days initially

ROLE

This role is about helping our beautiful content fly around the world, you’ll work with the team to understand our existing delivery frameworks and help run them, developing them further wherever possible.

  • It is currently part-time, with the opportunity to expand. We want people who are interested in building a great working relationship with us.
  • Work with the current team on all aspects of paid content delivery and SEO across networks including Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube and others.
  • Be passionate about data and optimisation; you need a touch of the geek about you to do this role well. Test everything is our motto when it comes to paid.
  • Understand how to report well, and the importance of reporting both internally and to our clients.
  • Have a clear understanding of the differences between paid and organic content delivery including SEO, organic social and how all the major channels handle their paid offer.
  • Be interested in the latest trends and technologies in the social space. Changes happen every day and we pride ourselves on being out in front of them.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • You will have some level of hands-on experience managing paid campaigns for brands. You don’t need to be an expert in all of them, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Agency experience is strongly preferred, but not essential.
  • Degree preferred, not essential for the right candidate.
  • You need to be able to be reactive and fast-paced, this stuff changes all the time.
  • This isn’t a technical role, but some technical knowledge is preferred, or at least you shouldn’t be intimidated by a bit of code here and there.
  • Please note this is not a community management or social media moderation role.

CREATIVE CONTENT EDITOR


 

Freelance/1.5 Days Per Week

From August 2017

ROLE

Working as a liaison between the agency directors and content creation team to oversee, plan, manage, commission and create content for our clients. This person will come up with, commission and deliver engaging, insightful and innovative travel stories that meet our clients’ objectives, across print and digital.

Equal parts left and right brain, the creative content editor will work in close partnership with Untold’s directors and our network of writers, photographers, filmmakers and designers to create beautiful and innovative stories, both in print and online.

Before and during the creation, the role will be as a creative lead, an editorial mastermind and – in parts – storyteller with unbeatable writing skills. It will involve shepherding story ideas through development, creating and managing production and content schedules, the commissioning and the creation of high-quality features and the delivery of outstanding and class-leading content.

YOUR EXPERIENCE

  • You will have worked at the highest level of magazine and / or newspaper journalism / digital publishing and be completely up to speed on what makes great writing, great stories and great content that really sparkles.
  • You will be used to overseeing and creating sections or whole magazines from scratch and have a keen eye, knowing how to conceptualize original, ambitious and effective content, dreaming up feature ideas and drafting story rationale.
  • You are able to give direction for writers, directors, photographers, designers and any other talent, managing those resources and cultivating relationships.
  • You are comfortable moving between different types of projects – from features and photography to films or treatments.
  • Knowledge of video production and narrative film creation would be ideal, but it is not essential.
  • Overall digital know-how and an innate understanding of how stories are successful to an online audience are important. This means awareness of how stories get delivered via social, search and across digital. Likewise, you will have an eye for great social assets to be generated in the story creation and be able to work with our SEO and social teams to make stories really shareable.
  • You will have the ability to work quickly and efficiently and pitch new, exciting ideas on a consistent basis.
  • Degree preferred, not essential for the right candidate.
  • 4+ years in leading editorial and / or content marketing.
